COMMISSIONED PORTRAITS

This diptych was a fun take on Macbeth. The dagger and bloody hand add a subtle nod to the play and the garments add a fun take on the traditional portraits one would hang in the house.

BIG ZIZEK 3 ft x 2 ft

A three foot by two foot, hyperrealistic portrait of Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek is a monumental thing in itself. The selected lighting and wild hair of the reference photo added to the complexity.

magical hyperrealism

As a part of a tiptych, I created three foot by two foot portraits of characters created by Henry Darger, the great midcentury outsider artist. Depicted here is a Blengiglomenean, a half-human creature with bat wings and horns.

ariel and caliban 40 in x 30 IN

Beginning my series of Shakespeare characters is "Ariel and Caliban" from The Tempest. The work (and its study) were completed in the Caravaggio style of a monochromatic layer followed by multiple glazings of thin color.

I did 4 x 6 inch oil paintings of famous film scenes.

THE VAMPIRE OF FORT SMITH

There's a vampire running for mayor in Fort Smith, Arkansas, so I had to illustrate him.
